Eleframes Arrives at the World Maker Faire: Day 1 of 3

Eleframes: Connecting Photograph Displays

After two years of passionate creativity,
six friends set out to present Eleframes at the World Maker Faire in New York City. My identical twin brother, Rosse, planned and lead our team, as we presented to thousands of faire goers from across the country and around the world.

The World Maker Faire draws a vast array of creative and curious minds. It was the perfect place to swap stories with fellow presenters and inspire young makers to pursue their passions.

Our Team: The Gates Brothers (Caleb, Rosse, Eli, and Drew), the Karolak Twins (Kamila and Olivia), Wolfgang, Drew B, and Kerin, with offsite support form Gazment

Day one starts at the New York Hall of Science where we drive through the main gates into the greatest show and tell on Earth. After unloading our suburban and stacking everything in a large rolling bin, we make our way to the second floor where Travis points us toward our home for the next three days. Our location couldn’t be better. We’re located on a bottleneck between two large rooms. Everyone that passes will be sucked straight into our booth.

We spent our first evening setting up displays and distributing roles, as we prepare to teach kids and adults alike how to die cut their very own Eleframes kit.

It doesn’t appear in the video, but we actually spent 3 hours idling in Queens, NY because our AirB&B renter canceled on us as we were arriving! It was a great looking place, few reviews, and an outstanding price. Now we know why. While we didn’t get the run of a brownstone or a baby grand piano, the hotel we ended up in was comfortable and accommodating.

A serious debate ended the evening. I’ve been told all great debates take place over cheep particle board tables in semi luxurious hotel rooms.
