Is Fortnite dying or dead? Or is Fortnite thriving and better than ever?

FIRST Let's Talk about why Fortnight blew up and is the most popular game right now...

Fortnite Combinines Hunger Games, Call of duty, Minecraft, GTA, & Vegas Gambling + It's free to play so the price allows any broke gamer to play unlike most games that cost $30 and up.

Fortnite Has over 125 Million players & more people are playing fortnight then any other shooter and it's not the best shooter in my opinion. But the lobbies load quicker than CALL of duty.

So many people streaming that even watching gameplay is addicting
+ People are making hundreds of thousands of dollars streaming Ninja makes over 350k/month from twitch subscriptions alone and that's a low ball. Not even including donations or his Youtube adsense so If you know his ACTUAL INCOME feel free to comment it below because I'm curious. And what do you think about making money streaming your video gameplay?

NOW what's the psychology that makes Video games so addicting and why Fortnite is so successful.

1) Endowed Progress – People who feel they have made some progress toward a goal are more committed to achieve that goal. EXAMPLE: there's 2 math students Student one has a sheet with 10 problems student two has 12 problems but the first 2 are already solved. Student is 50% more likely to finish the worksheet.

2) Loss Aversion - The tendancy to be more sensative to possible losses then to possible gains is one of the best supported findings in social science. And in FORTNITE if you lose then you gotta start from the beginning unlike COD where you can just respawn. QUESTION: Do you guys think that after a player dies if they had the ability to pay to respawn would that ruin the game or make it more interesting? (That would make the game developers BANK but would that ruin the Loss Aversion in the game?)

3) Envy – Leaderboards, gameplay footage of pros, the randomness of guns, player custimization

4) Reciprocity - Donations to streamers & in game sharing of weapons & materials.

5) Scarcity – There's only so many golden scars in the game so it's like the gold rush to get the best weapons.

6) Triggering – People take action when their motivations and abilities are in alignent with each other. EXAMPLE: The randomness of the weapons in Fortnite and the storm circle makes everyone feel like they have a chance against better players so they get more motivated to keep playing.

7) Endowment Effect – We overvalue things simply because we own them and the more time we spend playing something the more addiciting it becomes and it feels like a waste to stop playing because we've made so much progress. That's what COD did so well with weapon upgrades.

WHY MIGHT FORTNITE DIE?

1) If it becomes to repetative and they don't keep adding new Features (gameplay modes, weapons)

2) If they remove the most popular features (What are your favorite, comment below)

3) If they stop listening to the players (What do you think they should improve, take away or add, let everyone know in the comments below PROS & CONS)
