Anwar Shaikh is a heterodox economist, founding member of the Union of Radical Political Economists, and Professor of Economics at The New School for Social Research in New York City. His latest book Capitalism: Competition, Conflict, Crisis has been widely acclaimed as one of the most important works of economic theory to have come from the Left in many years. 

Anwar explains how and why capitalism works, and the consequences of having it as the dominant economic operating system in the world. What does that really mean?! Anwar will tell you.
